The Peeps of Providence

A Different Kind of Community Living

 Who Are Associates?

Associates of the Congregation of Divine Providence are women and men of all ages, cultures and diverse life situations. They desire to be witnesses of God’s Provident Love in the world; they are connected to the Sisters of Divine Providence and to Associates of Divine Providence all over the world!

 To What Are They Called?

Associate Members are called to live their family, social, professional and political commitments as witnesses to God’s providential love. Our ministries and lives are varied, but our mission is the same—being Providence for others and for creation.

 Discerning a charism

The Church is rich in its diversity of charisms and spiritualities. There are many, many spiritual communities with which to connect. Once you decide to align yourself with an associate community, how do you choose among so many good options?

Read up on the founders of each institute;

Talk to vowed and associate members;

Discern with a spiritual director;

Journal and reflect on your journey;

Learn more about your faith;

Pray!

No matter which community of associates you join, God is there, continuing to guide, call, and love you. Blessings on this amazing spiritual adventure!

 Am I Called?

Are you a person of Providence — someone who trusts in God’s love for you and for all people?

Do you seek to do something meaningful with your life?

Do you want to deepen your relationship with God?

Do you want to be part of something bigger than yourself — a mission that others profess as well?

Do you want to align yourself to a charism, a spirituality, but feel you’re not called to vowed religious life?

We may be what you’re looking for!

 Providence Spirituality

Associates of Divine Providence know God as Providence — a constant presence caring for us and for all of creation. The spirit that moves in us is one that seeks a deeper experience of our Provident God; it prompts us to trust in God’s tender care.

The four fundamental virtues of Divine Providence are Simplicity, Poverty, Charity and Abandonment to Providence. Striving to live these virtues connects us to each other, to others, and to Providence. The practice of the fundamental virtues as a personal spiritual path is providence for our own times of great change and uncertainty.
