Vocation and Ministry of the Catechist
Catechist will understand the basic elements of the Mass and gain skills for preparing and implementing liturgical experiences with children.

Catechetical Practices
Catechists will be able to write and teach an effective lesson plan according to the Catechetical Process.

Basic Liturgical Practice
Catechists will understand the basic elements of the Mass and gain skills for preparing and implementing liturgical experiences with children

Learning Needs and Catechesis
Catechists will understand the learning needs of students in the classroom, the principles that affect learners’ behaviors and appropriate ways to manage classroom conduct.

Prayer Workshop
Catechists will understand the basic principles of Catholic prayer and gain skills for leading prayer experiences with children
Additional Requirements:
  • Minimum of one year experience as a catechist
  • Activity that witnesses to personal growth in faith
  • Observation of a Catechetical session and interview with Catechetical leader
  • Develop a Plan of Study for Further Growth and Enrichment
