Be a Leader! Interns live together in a common living space. Franciscan Friars live in part of the house as well. There are some shared prayer experiences, meals, and common life. Interns are responsible for their food and common expenses. Housing costs are provided by the program. In addition to meeting with a campus minister to discuss ministry goals and community, interns meet with a mentor throughout the year. The purpose of the internship program is to involve students in a more deliberate way in campus and parish ministry to: - introduce students to lay ministry - deepen involvement in Church - develop leadership skills - enhance peer ministry - experience Christian community living
| Interns are required to work ten hours per week in campus or parish ministry and participate in supervisory sessions. Interns cook and supervise student dinners, and they plan and carry out other campus ministry activities as well. They can also use their hours to work on a variety of ministries or projects, depending on their interest, talent, and call.
Interns help to represent St. Monica-St. George on the
UC campus, to the parish at large, and to the rest of the student community. They are not only ministers to their peers; they are leaders who guide and offer support to the whole student group.
You too can be an intern!
