Optional Content Releases - September 28th, 2009 After seeing the relative success that the Hi-Res Grease Gun/Karabiner 98k models has as optional content, I have decided to continue to offer new models, textures, sounds and other content as optional downloads. The first is a model replacement replacing the CZ-52 model with an H&K USP Tactical model. This is the first release in a planned line of several meant to give the arsenal of SMOD Redux a more modern feel without breaking the careful weapon balance. HL2 Hand hack by [Xero] DOWNLOAD HERE The second is a small pack that returns some of the effects and sounds that Redux altered, replaced or removed back to the SMOD defaults. Including the blood/water drops on the screen. DOWNLOAD HERE Enjoy! Information on Version 8 and Addon Pack 1 - September 14th, 2009 Development on SMOD Redux Version 8 continues. It was known as 7.5 before there was so many changes that Version 8 was a better name for it, as well as emphasizing the new development style of the Redux "Core" release that puts more focus onto polishing the content already in it then adding as much new content as possible. Version 8 includes a large number of tweaks, bug fixes and re-balanced weapons. It will only be offered as a full download due to some of the changes. Version 8 should deliver a far more polished experience then Version 7.1. Some of Version 8's changes: -Removed SLAM mine as it failed to perform to the standard of the other weapons. -Removed Sniper Ammo due to redundancy issues. SVD now uses Heavy Rifle Ammo. -New zombie2 models and textures. -Sawed-Off and A35 can now be used by NPC's. (thanks to tiw!) -Greatly improved MP40 shooting/reload animations. -Eliminated wind-up time on MP40 melee attack. -Improved Dual Pistol rigging and origin. -Added weapon manager entity into DM_Overwatch and DM_Runoff to keep the number of dropped weapons under a limit, helping performance. -Tried to address cases of early-campaign crashes (especially d1_canals_01). Keep in mind that these are just a small taste of the changes in Version 8 and no changes are final. Releasing along with Version 8 will be the first version of the Addon Pack which aims to offer users more content while keeping the "Core" release free of bloat. The first version will now offer 4 new weapons (including new versions of the P90 and M4A1 from Version 6), 3 new maps, a number of new player models that can be selected from the main menu, a rebalanced version of the HL2 campaign, and new NPC models. While there is no release date set for Version 8/Addon Pack 1 at this time, i will continue to offer other content in the meantime that can be used in the Core releases as well as with the Addon Pack similar to the 6.1 Grease Gun and Kar98 models.
