2012 Lady Panthers Soccer Banquet
The Lady Panthers capped off their 2012 season with the traditional year-end soccer banquet. The event was held again at Heritage Christian Church and was well-attended by players, coaches, parents and even our ever-faithful Trainer Jason and Away Game bus driver, Ms. Stone.Thanks to Joanne Kurtz, Martha Ann Woodhead, Randi Bonilla, the Currins and the Pattisons for all their hard work in organizing and to David Shonk and Loren & Claire Williams in creating the wonderful video entertainment. 2012 Lady Panthers Rosters Announced
The Lady Panther coaches have selected their teams for the 2011 season.Coach Kayla Seabolt's Varsity Girls team will feature ten returning players from her first-year 2011 State Semifinalist squad including five returning seniors. Two juniors and three sophomores return from last year and they are joined by a new crop of Lady Panthers - most promoted from Coach Denise Fuller's 2011 JV squad. Homecoming For O'Hara
Lady Panther alum Kelley
O'Hara is coming home -- and for more than just the Homecoming Game this time. O'Hara
has agreed to terms with the Atlanta Beat of the WPS and will
begin the 2012 professional campaign as a member of the Beat.
Kelley finished out the 2011 season as a member of the Boston
Breakers. The prior year, she was the first draft choice and member of
the FC Gold Pride of northern California who captured the 2010 WPS Championship. She is a current member of the
USWNT and played in the 2011 World Cup held in Germany last summer.

Remember The Name - Casey Shiflett
In
2006, the Lady Panthers captured their fourth of five State Championships. The coach who led them there was Coach Greg
Shiflett. Coach Shiflett and his family
have since moved to Big Sky country in Montana. But they didn’t leave the ChaChaGoulay
behind when they left.
We
were pleased to learn that Greg and Jill’s daughter – and frequent Lady
Panthers ballgirl - Casey Shiflett,
was named to the 2011
NSCAA Girls’ Soccer All-America Team.
The All-America team is comprised of 81 of the best high school players
in the nation. She was also named NSCAA
HS Girls State Player Of The Year in Montana.

Nettie Perkins and AASU Pirates Advance to NCAA Division 2 Final Four
Lady Panther alum Nettie Perkins (Class of 2010) and her Armstrong Atlantic Pirates moved into the NCAA Division 2 Final Four tournament after defeating the University of Tampa 2-1 on Sunday. They will now face The College Of Saint Rose from Albany, NY. The semifinal match will take place in Pensacola, FL on December 1 at 3pm ET. Saint Rose (22-1-1) is ranked #10 in the nation and is the Division 2 leader in goals scored. Armstrong Atlantic State University is ranked #7 in the nation and this is their first Final Four in team history.

Lady Panther Alums Advance To NCAA Tournaments
Five former Lady Panthers are continuing their seasons in their respective NCAA tournaments this year.
Stuart Pope (2011) and her Kentucky Wildcats (13-7) will host Washington State (12-6) on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7pm ET in Lexington, KY, in the first round of the NCAA Division I tournament.
LSU (13-7) with forward Carlie Banks (2009) go up against Texas A&M (15-5) on Friday, Nov. 11 in College Station, TX at 7:30pm ET.
Former SMHS keeper Kaitlyn Stroud (2010) and her Kansas Jayhawks (11-8) play the University of Georgia (12-6) in Lawrence, KS at 1pm ET on Sunday, Nov. 13.

Frosty Named To The List of Top 100 College Freshmen
Lady Panther alum and Kennesaw State forward Katrina Frost was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Top 100 Freshmen list. She is one of only 17 players from a non-BCS school and the only representative from the Atlantic Sun Conference.
Frost was also named to the Atlantic Sun All-Conference 2nd Team and the A-Sun All-Freshman Team. Katrina started all 17 regular season games this year and led her team in goals scored (11), points (24), shots (82), shots-on-goal (34) and game-winning goals (3). The 11 goals scored also tied her for the overall top mark in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
Katrina was a captain of the 2010 Starr’s Mill State Championship team ...
