JCR President - Amy Annette

The role of the JCR president is to represent the JCR on all levels, and to ensure that all parts of the JCR are working together so that we can continue
to be the best college in Durham!

Vice President - Anthony Packer

The role of the Vice President is to deputise for the President in all matters. They are also responsible for food and house issues in college.

Secretary- Sarah McGowan

The role of the JCR secretary is to deal with all of the administrative tasks of the JCR.

Treasurer- Nick Cooney

The treasurer controls the finances of the JCR- a good person to know! The treasurer presides over Finance Committee, an elected body who regulate the smaller amounts of money spent by the Exec, and deals with all clubs and societies' accounts.

  • Any reimbursements owed to you

Social Secretary- Louise Corrigan 


The Social Secretary organises many of the JCR social events, such as Informal Ball in November, formal and informal dinners, bops and nights out in Durham and the surrounding area. All of this is organised with the help of the Social Committee, otherwise known as Soc Comm.

  • Getting involved with organising social events as part of Soc Comm.
  • Helping out with setting up events.
  • If you want to know more about formals or any other events.
  • If you have any ideas about social events that Mary's could run.

Female Welfare Officer - Megan Morris

 

The Female Welfare Officer is there to provide a confidential listening and information service, she can also give out sexual health supplies, including condoms and pregnancy tests. Together with the Male Welfare Officer she heads Welfare Committee which organises various campaigns throughout the year such as SHAG week and Alcohol Awareness.

Male Welfare Officer - Alex Cooke

The male welfare officer is here to provide an impartial, non-judgemental and confidential listening and information service via drop in sessions in the JCR Office. You can also book an appointment by sending an email. He is also responsible for running welfare campaigns throughout the year and providing free supplies.

  • You’d like to speak to him in confidence

  • You’re interested in getting involved in a fantastic committee

Senior DSU Rep - Lyuboslava Kirilova


The role of the Senior DSU Rep is to liase between Mary’s JCR and the Union by representing Mary’s students at DSU meetings and by informing the JCR of all matters related to the DSU.
