Find the Image: A good way to start locating copyright-free media is to search Creative Commons licensed material on Flickr. There are millions of images available on Flickr with the least restrictive "Attribution" license (Attribution means that you are allowed to copy, distribute, display, and perform the copyrighted work - and derivative works based upon it, meaning that you can make changes to it - but only if you give credit to the license owner.) There are many free photo editors available online. Some create only specific effects such as resizing an image, cropping an image, or creating rounded corners. Others, such as Pixenate, allow you to do simple editing. A really nice, free online photo editing site is Picnik. Picnik offers a premium service for a yearly subscription fee, but the free service is pretty robust for an online editor. Picnik is a powerful, cloud-based photo editor that is integrated directly into Flickr. Another nice, free, and fun online photo editor is Fotoflexer. Splashup is another nice online editor. A more advanced, downloadable editor is Gimp. Gimp takes a little time and practice to master, but allows you to do more with your images. Created in Fotoflexer from a campus photo.![]() Easy Online Photo Editors
