About Me

I am a life long resident of the Capital Region.  I was born in North Albany and grew up in the Delaware area neighborhood in the City of Albany.  I attended Albany public schools and am a graduate of Albany High School.  I've been committed to community service since I first volunteered my summer nights at the Park Playhouse in Albany as a teenager.  Currently, I live in the Town of Guilderland with my wife Amie and our daughter Emily.  At home, I am a fire district commissioner and volunteer firefighter in the the Westmere area.

In 2000, I graduated from the University at Albany and immediately began my graduate work in UAlbany's regional planning program.  Today, I am a member of the University at Albany Alumni Association Board of Directors and past treasurer.  I continue to honor my commitment to UAlbany as a board member and one of the organizers of the Brink 5K, an annual walk/run in honor of fallen NYS Trooper David Brinkerhoff.  I am also an advisor to Five Quad Volunteer Ambulance Service; a student run ambulance service at UAlbany.

In 2009, I returned to UAlbany to complete coursework in Public Administration and Local Government Management.

I am a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.  As a Land Use Training Specialist for New York State, I present training programs and provide technical assistance to local municipal officials on government efficiency, intermunicipal cooperation and land use planning.    Previously, I was the Senior Economic Development Planner for Albany County where I administered the Albany County Empire Zone and the Albany County Planning Board.  I support an intermunicipal approach to planning and economic development.
