Slick Rick's Hideaway

I am a NC native and, except for a short stint in Uncle Sam's Army in Alaska, I've lived here all of my life. I'm 49 years old, 5'11", Christian, moderate Republican and a work-from-home programmer with IBM. I don't lie, cheat or steal. (OK, I might cheat at cards, given the chance and I would definitely lie about how big the fish was I caught). You can click here to view my expansive photo album.

Life is good and it keeps getting better. Every day is a gift and also an opportunity to be a part of something great.

I regularly watch Seinfeld, Gunsmoke, The Andy Griffith Show (only black and white), The Soprano's, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. I always enjoy Shawshank Redemption, True Romance, Goodfellas, Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill, Gladiators, Godfather(s), Pulp Fiction and Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

As a full-time single dad, I've learned to cook really well, especially Southern cooking; collard greens, fried squash, pinto beans and ham-hocks, fried chicken, cabbage, fried sweet potatoes and oh yes, the best sweet tea in town.

I can't carry a tune in a 5-gallon bucket, so I'm not one to karaoke, unless I've had way too many drinks. I will, however, sing along with my favorite tunes by Alice In Chains, Tool, Perfect Circle, James Brown, Led Zep, SOAD, Barry White, STP, Pearl Jam, Bjork, Chevelle, Ray Charles, Ozzy or good ol' 70's soul music: Four Tops, Temptations, Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes.

I am the one of easiest going guys you will probably ever come across. Worrying is a waste of time and energy. I am firm in my beliefs. I am independent, open-minded, giving, loyal, spontaneous, adventurous, and down to earth. I also know how to have a good time..

I would rather be wearing shorts, T-Shirts and crocs. I am not materialistic. I can eat at McDonald's and shop at Wal-Mart. I am a one-woman man. If we are on a dinner date or at a social event, you will be the focus of my attention. I am straight-forward and will call it like I see it. At the same time, I will be compassionate and caring when needed. I do not believe in the word quit; I fight for what I believe in.

I love a good filet mignon, a nice glass of chardonnay with ice and a well-made martini. I love the beach, especially Myrtle Beach, and want to move there in the future. The mountains are OK, but a bit too far to drive often. I enjoy shooting pool and always get my money's worth. If I can't hit the same ball six or seven times, why play? I am pretty decent at darts and an expert at video golf. In the spring and summer, I umpire baseball for high school and college kids. In the winter, I referee high school wrestling. It's a great stress reliever.

Well, there's the low-down, the skinny, the 411 on me. If you're interested, drop me a line and if not, thanks for stopping by.

Until next time...........
