Private detective Dave Miller said Mr Dewani's father and brother rang him from Britain in the early hours on the night of her disappearance asking him to get involved in the search for Anni Dewani. At this stage the newly-wed bride was missing after being abducted by the carjackers, but her body had not been found. Mr Miller, a former South African Police Service detective who now runs Sleuth Detectives, said he told the Dewanis to let the police do their job and call him back in the morning if she had not been found. Mr Miller said: "When you have someone in a state of shock, and the first three or four minutes it's like a bomb has exploded, you want everything done at once but my view is that you let it take its course and not run in like a bull in a china shop. "In the morning when the daylight arrived, if police hadn't taken them seriously, if they had not allocated senior officers, I would get involved. Tourist survives Vic Falls bungee horror  An Australian woman whose bungee jumping cord snapped as she plunged 111-metres off the Victoria Falls bridge into the Zambezi River, has described her "miracle" survival.
"The bungee has proven to be a very viable operation considering that more than 50 000 tourists jump on it every year," he said. "It has been in operation for 10 years. This is the first time I am hearing of an incident. The probability of an incident is one in 500 000 jumps."
SA man dies in hot-air balloon crash
A young South African was one of 11 people who died in a hot-air balloon crash in New Zealand at the weekend. The balloon caught fire after hitting a power line as it was landing 90km north of New Zealand’s capital, Wellington, on Saturday, police said. Chrisjan Jordaan, 21, and his girlfriend, Alexis Still, 19, were on board with four other couples and the pilot. Two of the passengers apparently died when they jumped from the balloon’s basket in a bid to save their lives. Zuma: We will stamp out factionalism

Witness tells of boating tragedy
 Eddie dos Santos, 42, Ramon da Costa, 17, and his girlfriend Mikaela de Araujo, 16, were flung from Dos Santos's motorboat on Monday afternoon, Beeld newspaper reported.
