JAZZFEST POSTER DESIGN WINNERS

How Can We Visualize Jazz?  This is the question that was posed to 80 SHHS students enrolled in Studio in Media Arts and Digital Imaging classes who competed in the 7th annual JazzFest design contest. This year's winning artist is Brittany Brand, Class of 2011, whose design will be used on posters to promote the event, the program cover and T shirts. The winning artist also receives a $100 cash prize which will be awarded at the evening of the JazzFest. The runner-ups, who also receive a prize, are Megan Copley, Abigael Titcomb and Marissa Weissman. Students listened to jazz music, and studied artists who use jazz as their subject matter for inspiration to design a poster that conveyed the rhythm and movement found in this form of music. Below are the designs of this year's winner and runner-ups, as well as, the winners and runner-ups from previous years.
