Our Mission

The mission of the Slater Library is to select, acquire, organize and preserve books and other materials of contemporary interest and permanent value for the education, intellectual stimulation and pleasure of the communities of Griswold and Lisbon, Connecticut. It upholds the principles of intellectual freedom and the public's right to know by providing services to fulfill the community's access to information and collections to reflect all points of view.

It is the 60th Anniversary of the Beatles invading America! Join us as author Charles F. Rosenay presents this multimedia program with film and fun facts. We will also welcome a live musician – a Paul McCartney soundalike! A program not to be missed.

Ebooks & Audiobooks

The Libby app and the Palace Project app* offer an outstanding selection of ebooks and audiobooks. The Libby app is available with your valid library card to download books and audiobooks on your phone or tablet. 

*The Palace Project app replaces the Simple E app which has been discontinued and does not require a library card but has a selection of free ebooks and  audiobooks under "Palace Bookshelf."
