DeShonna Y. Robinson

17 years of teaching experience. I'm certified and highly qualified as a teacher.  I'm a mother of two wonderful sons and happily married. I choose teaching as a profession because I wanted to make a great impact on society and help prepare younger minds for the future. My favorite subject is and have been math. I love mathematics!! Last year all my students in 5-02 scored either Proficient or advance in both Math and Reading. SO for this I'm thankful.  I LOVE MY JOB!!!!

Welcome  Parents and students,

It brings me much pleasure to have your child in my class this school year. We are working very hard to master all the student performance indicators. Parents please view over the objectives that we will cover this first nine weeks of school

Please review my expectation list and encourage your child to follow them  daily.

If you haven't already please due so, students need a composition book to keep weekly word wall words in side. They are responsible for keeping up with the definitions that are given each week. At the end of the nine weeks I will give a quiz on the definitions of the word wall words. Students will be allowed to use their compositions to help them complete the quiz.

Morning Rountines consists of students coming into class putting up and getting out all required materials from their backpacks. They also have morning work that has to be completed before 9:00. It is taking entirely to long to get students acculumated to this routine. I will start issuing classs participation grades soon. Please make sure your child is following the routines.

Incomplete work will not be allowed to go home to make up assignments after the first nine weeks. Students have enough time during the class period to complete all assignments. It is difficulty to complete assignments when you are doing what you want to do, not what you are required to do. Parents, please support me when I send home incomplete work by getting on your son or daughter and  not asking  me for additional time.  I would love to give additional time but it has been my experience that the student takes advantage of the situation and expects to do the classwork at home and not at school, which in turns leave opportunity for classroom behavior problems.

If your child has had to call you from school and he or she wasn't ill, that means he or she is not doing what is expected of him or her. Please help me to manage this problem. Assignments are placed on the board daily. Students are to copy the assignments in their planner. Each student was given a planner for such reason. No planner should be left at home. Students are required to write the assignments in their planner during morning routines.  This is what he or she can use to make sure he or she  is completing required assignments.

Your son or daughter will have a successful year if he or she follow all procedures, get organized and continue to listen and focus in class!!
