pollution is affecting poverty and our environment! First off I will begin to talk about pollution itself. Pollution is when water, air or land becomes very dirty. Pollution can come in four different types. Effecting different types of areas in the world. Air pollution effects the air, water pollution effects the water, land pollution effects the land destroying life and the enviroment and there is also noise pollution that can effect our hearing .We all contribute to pollution in some way or another. it can be with a large amount or small amount we can still cause major damage to our health and the enviroment. Although we all contribute to help stop the increase of pollution. Very little amount of people realize that pollution is very harmful because they don't think of the enviroment, themselves, and other people and what it can do. |
When people think about air pollution, they usually think about smog, acid rain, and other forms of air pollution. But air pollution also can exist in homes and other buildings? It can, and every year, the health of many people is affected by chemical substances present in the air within buildings. Globally, the large industries find the same advantage in poor nations. Pollution controls and hazardous-waste-disposal regulations are stricter, and more expensive, in the developed nations. Many companies find it cheaper to export their waste to the developing cities, which are starving for cash. The hazardous waste disposal in those cities is unsafe and dangerously polluting. The people who handles the waste are poorly educated, and therefore may suffer severe health consequences as a result of their work. However, if they are paid a salary they are better off than many others. Also the developing cities themselves, eager to grow economically, may develop heavy industry but not the controls or "infrastructure" necessary to contain the pollution. It is easy to see, therefore, that there is a huge divide, economically and ideologically, between the developed and developing countries. Thats why pollution is affecting poverty. http://www.pollutionissues.com/Pl-Re/Poverty.html
| How its Effecting us! Harmful gases and tiny particles (like carbon monoxide, nitrogen) when released into the air pollute the air. The smoke released from burning fuel, from factories and not to forget the motor cars are the major sources of air pollution. NOTE TO Mr. JOEL KLEIN : Global Warming and Pollution is a serious issue in this world. The causes and effects of global warming are heat waves, and emission of gases. 72% of the totally emitted greenhouse gases is carbon dioxide. effects are: raising sea levels, glacier retreat, and regional effects that include extreme weather. It also raises up the heat temperature. Things we can do to prevent global warming would be to recycle more, use less electricity, and not to use styrofoam. Another main fact that causes Global Warming is Pollution and litteration. If only you Mr. Klein as chancellor of NYC Board of Education can do something about this. Like having the schools to begin to recycle. Begin to stop having schools serve lunch on styrofoam plates. |
Why else is pollution a problem...Does it lead to global warming ![]()
The predicted effects of global warming on the environment and for human life are numerous and varied but some effects of recent climate change have already be occurring. Raising sea levels, glacier retreat, Arctic shrinkage, and altered patterns of agriculture are cited as direct consequences, but predictions for secondary and regional effects include extreme weather events, an expansion of tropical diseases, changes in the timing of seasonal patterns in ecosystems, and drastic economic impact. Concerns have led to political activism advocating proposals to mitigate, eliminate, or adapt to it.

Globa
YES, Pollution does Lead to Global Warming !!
(ex: smoke tower, giving off MAJOR pollution)
how can we reduce this?
pollution is some things that help put holes in the ozone layer. the ozone layer is what keeps out 97-99% of the suns ultra viloet light. and the light heats up the planet through the holes and also melts the polar ice caps. So therefore pollution is bad because we need our sunlight.
