While making some renovations to my studio, a peice of trim molding fell hitting, among other things, a white bowl that was given to me as a present by an old friend of mine when I moved into my first apartment in New York. My first reaction was "shit, fuck, damn it!!". I stared at the mess for a minute or two and noticed that it had broken into two almost equal parts. A feeling of excitement came over me. I knew instantly that this would be my next series. I could see the unusual shapes, forms and shadows that these would create. The artistic equivalent of making lemonade. Several days later the same thing happened. Same bowl, same peice of trim. It broke one of the halves into four peices. I looked at the new mess sort of expecting more excitement. When that didn't happen my next reaction was "shit, fuck, damn it!!!" I glued the the four peices together and moved the bowl to to a safe place in my house.
