The Marketing Association, or MA for short, is an organization that is dedicated to the development of professionalism in every aspect of marketing. The MA is committed to helping members meet new challenges. The focus is on sharing knowledge about the field of marketing that is not generally covered in marketing courses. Members shall increase their portfolio of skills through the Association.
Not every student organization has the potential to change one's future. The Marketing Association has exposed students to "real world" challenges and situations for many years on the campus of San Jose State University. The MA was created and is known for uniting students of all areas of study on SJSU's campus in order to make connections and friendships that will last a lifetime. The MA believes in utilizing knowledge and strength to help fellow students, as well as the outside community. The semester's events have included:
* Interviews and Resume Workshops with business professionals and the Career Center
* Events with various student organizations, such as Spartan Investors and MBA Association
* Pizza and dessert socials throughout the semester
* Philanthropic events, such as the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" and Second Harvest Food Bank
Each semester the MA strives to create new and exciting opportunities for members. Whether it be through social events or internship opportunities, the officers work constantly to give members a competitive edge. The enthusiastic team of officers have connected each semester to provide essential resources to members in order to be successful during the years spent in school, after graduation and in professional environments. Leadership, professionalism, and knowledge is taught at SJSU. The MA utilizes the education taught at SJSU to empower members and lay the foundation for a successful future.
