Roundtable Meeting, 12/10/2009Attended by: Matt Pearce, Pack 913 Tiger Dad (matt.lin.pearce@gmail.com)- Next roundtable meeting will be on January 14, 2010 (Theme: Happy Birthday BSA 100th Anniversary)
- Upcoming announcements at next meeting on Cub World for Summer 2010. Theme will be Sports and Games for Cub World 2010 (Contact: Brad Case, 202-739-9418 and Eric Steele, 301-214-9170)
- District-level Pinewood Derby, February 20, 2010 @ Floris Elementary School on Centreville Rd. Cost is $10 per racer
- Cub Scout Theme for the month of December is "Power Up!". Cub Scouts will spend a power-packed month exploring the science of different forms of energy that we use in our daily lives. They will investigate how this energy is used and consider how to conserve it. A den or pack might visit a local power plant, solar farm, or wind farm. This is a great opportunity for Cub Scouts to also start learning about "green" forms of energy being created every day (e.g., solar, wind, fuel cell, etc).
- Going with the "Power Up!" theme, the group did an "ON" / "OFF" fun balloon popping game that will be great to show the pack so the scouts can burn off a ton of excess energy.
- In the next pack meeting for Pack 913 in January (1/29/10), I will present a slide show on the BSA Centennial events for 2010 and how Pack 913 will be involved in some of these events. It will be a very exciting next year for Pack 913!!
