What is Catholic Youth Ministry?

St. Joseph Catholic youth ministry is not a group or a club to join but rather an organization dedicated to serving the high school youth of our parish. The Catholic bishops of the United States in 1997 identified three goals for youth ministry. The first goal is to "empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today." The second goal is "to draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic faith community." The third goal is to foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person." At St. Joseph, our youth are strengthened in their faith through participation in service projects, sporting events, social justice awareness, youth conferences, mission trips and weekly gatherings.
