our Art projects with Mrs. Porter and we made pyramids and
mummified apple slices.

We had a great month in October! Social Studies class has been full of artwork and an Archeology project. Enjoy the pictures of our artwork below. The 6th grade also accumulated 100 party points this month and we had a party consisting of pizza, dessert, and dodgeball. I know it won't be too long until they reach 100 more points for the next party. October 2009 Parent Teacher Conference sign-up sheets will be on the bulletin board just outside the office on Monday, October 5th, at drop-off. Please sign up your child as soon as possible. Your child will be there for your conferences. The sixth grade enjoyed a class refresher on Latitude and Longitude from Mr. Ferree. He explained to the sixth graders how a flight plan is generated using the Latitude and Longitude information they learned last week. It was a great learning experience. Thank you very much Mr. Ferree!
Homework lab will be held every Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:20 until 4:15. Please pick up your child by the office doors no later than 4:20. If a student is not picked up by 4:20 they will be brought to extended day. Picture Day Sept. 9, 2009. Full dress is required. Return your picture order form by Sept. 9 to your teacher. On Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, Msgr. Mannion will be joining the 6th grade for morning prayer. Having Mondays with Msgr. is a result of our action plan from last years accreditation process. He will be joining a different class each Monday throughout the school year for morning prayer and to visit with the students. Progress reports go home this month. Please discuss with your child that this is a midterm grade and not their final quarter grade. September 25th is our All School Mass. Please join us for a special mass celebrating the Feast of Saint Vincent. Bishop Wester will be joining us on our special day. August 2009

They have learned alot of information the first week of school and are doing a marvelous job. I am so proud of all of them. This year is going to be tons of fun for them. |
