"A Particular Class of Women was written by Feindel after a celebrated 1985 court case in
Ontario where a stripper was raped at knifepoint but Mr. Presiding Judge didn't pay much
attention to the crime because as he pointed out the woman/victim 'was from a particular class
of women whose profession it is to promote lust.'  Feindel spent ten years as a stripper to write
a composite of life in the skin trade, originally produced as a one-woman show."

"Raunchy, Raw and relentless, Purple Octogon Theatre's latest production is a blast of
unconventional drama in a site-specific locale.  This time it's in Hell.  Purple Octogon has
transformed it into an erotic dance club.  The production is brisk, engaging, and imaginative.
Purple Octogon seems determined to push the accepted boundaries of drama.  The patrons
in the bar inhabit the show rather than passively watch.  The young women immersed
themselves totally in their roles.  This is a strong and confident production that takes theatre
to a place Halifax audiences rarely get to visit."    -  Ron Foley MacDonald

"By peeling back the layers... of clothing
and of emotion.  Purple Octogon's
A Particular Class of Women pushes the
boundaries of our stereotypes about
stripping and also about ourselves."
