America: land of the free.  We hear these words a lot, but what do they really mean?  We are so used to being free that most of us have no concept of any other way of life.  We are accustomed to living in a land of opportunity where any of us can grow up to be doctors, engineers, or even President.  We can choose where we want to go to school, where we want to live and where we want to travel to. We owe our ability to make all these choices to the Americans who came before us, so in this class we are going to learn about how and why their main goal when they set up our country was to ensure that every American would be guaranteed these freedoms.
