RESUME:Gravitational waves were derived as a solution of the General Theory of Relativity by Einstein himself in 1916, however, until today, they haven’t been detected; there is only an indirect proof of their existence. Even though they produce deformations which are invisible to our eyes, they will be detected some day. When this happens, these waves will open a new window to observe phenomena that occur in the Universe which are unknown and to observe the ones already known in a completely different way, revolutionizing our knowledge of physics and astrophysics, with consequences to the technology of the next centuries.< xml="true" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" prefix="o" namespace="">
