Shadows, the flying fortresses that fell from the sky
On Friday 15th December 1944 two American aircraft were returning to the UK, after a bombing mission over Germany, when they collided in thick cloud above Greenham Common, killing all but two of the young airmen involved.
Several local boys witnessed the incident and discovered the aircraft wreckage.
64 years later and those same boys re-visit the crash site for the first time to tell the story of what happened on a cold and foggy day during World War Two.
Shadows is a memorial film to sixteen young Americans who lost their lives in the fight to bring World War Two to a close, told from the perspective of several English school boys who suddenly found themselves involved in a global incident.
