I am a college student, currently working toward my PhD. It's a long road ahead, but I'm very interested in the medical field, specifically the engineering aspect (applications) to it. I program completely for fun, in my free time, and work on no fixed schedule. I usually get free time on the weekends which I devote to programming. This is usually when updates/bug fixes on my apps are worked on and released. I don't personally like to be rushed, and only take on projects which seem like they don't require a fixed deadline. As stated above, I do this only on my free time and (so far) for free. I do not like to be committed to a programming project as it would take away from my studies, which are my top priority. My programming skills, personally speaking, are very limited, and I have barely scratched the surface of programming for the Palm Pre. However, I find it extremely enjoyable and see myself doing it for a while. Most of my current projects (RIPTA, Gray's Anatomy) have all come from my own personal need for the app. If I feel like I need/will need it, I will make it for myself. I end up assuming there might be at least one other person who may need it, and thus, release it into the PreCentral Homebrew collection. If I feel the app can make it "in the wild", or the accompanying party accepts the existence of the app, I will push for it to get into the Official Palm App Catalog. I also occasionally blog on the Mx Web website. Requests: I would love to take requests and assess the situation to see whether I can fulfill the request or not. Please do not hesitate to ask me for a program which you think is simple enough, and doesn't require a set completion date, and I can try to work on it. 11/05/2009: I am currently working on releasing RIPTA into the Official Palm App Catalog. Here's to hoping! 12/31/2009: RIPTA is now in the official Palm App Catalog! |
