Greetings, Fourth Grade Parents!
By the end of this semester, your child will be well on his/her way to reading music! Learning to read music is like learning a second (or third) language. It takes time and practice, but we will get there together. We will begin with the basics and slowly move toward music literacy. My goal is to provide your child with two solid years of music reading so that whether he/she decides to join a middle school choir or perhaps learn an instrument, he/she will already possess the necessary tools. I am confident in your child's ability, and I look forward to working with him/her throughout this exciting and challenging process.
WEEK 1: We will have one final sight-singing opportunity for assessment. WEEK 2: We will explore one final drumming session for the year. WEEK 3: For our final week of music, I will allow the students to pick their favorite lessons from the year to revisit for our last music class of the year. Note: Because of our 6 day rotation, the students will attend specials 4-5 times each six weeks. We will not see them on a weekly basis! |
