I was born in El, Paso, TX and moved to Irving when I was just a toddler. I grew up in Irving ISD and attended Townley Elementary School and Lamar Middle School. I graduated from Nimitz High School. I was a member of the Irving Boys Choir from fourth grade through sixth grade and sang in my church choir from the third grade until my senior year of high school. As a member of the Nimitz High School Choirs, I was a Texas All-Region singer for three years and sang as a member of the Texas All-State Choir my senior year. Music has always been a part of my life. After graduating, I traveled to Shreveport, Louisiana and attended Centenary College to continue my music education. (I am now certified to teach music in both Louisiana AND Texas!) As a member of the Centenary College Choir, I traveled to Australia, England, France, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, Switzerland, and Wales. I have seen (and sung in) some of most amazing venues all over the world. I've sung in New York City's famed Carnegie Hall, the beautiful Notredame Cathedral, at the White House for the President of the United States, and this summer, I was lucky enough to sing a solo in the Sydney Opera House! Music has literally taken me all over the world, and I hope to share these experiences with my students while encouraging them to explore where music can take them! Music is obviously a huge part of my life, but when I'm not singing, I enjoy reading (at the beach whenever possible!), entertaining friends, spending time with my mom and dad, my little brother, Matthew (currently an eighth grader at Lamar), and my baby sister, Mikaela (a second grader at Lively). I also love watching old movies and seeing live musicals when I have the chance! |
