Correcting "Spotty" Images
If you have a stamp that is leaving a blank spot when printed, try wiping the surface of the stamp with a damp terry washcloth. If this doesn't correct the problem, try lightly sanding the surface of the stamp with an emery board or very fine (400 grit) sandpaper, then wiping the rubber off with a damp washcloth. This should give the stamping surface some "tooth", so it will grab the ink. Try placing your cardstock on top of a magazine or something with a little "give" to it. Ink your stamp several times and stamp it off on scrap paper, before stamping your good cardstock. Use a good quality ink such as Versafine, Ancient Page, Memories, or any of the archival inks that will not bleed when using markers, or watercolor, also Stampin' Up for dye based inks. There are many new hybrid inks on the market that also work well with fine detail and large surface stamps. |
