Horizon Get a Draw and a Loss in Halloween Double Header
Coming off of their first win in MAPS league the Horizon held there own with U10 Benfica '99 taking a 3-3 draw. The match was exciting all the way as they rallied back from every goal and fought hard throughout.
4 hours after their morning game, the team traveled to Brooklyn to face the Brooklyn Patriots Impact. The history between these teams favors the Impact as they were 3-1 prior to today. The Horizon had few early opportunities but were unable to capitalize as they were having trouble re-familiarizing themselves with the speed of the FieldTurf. The Impact hit first with a goal halfway through the first and then picked up another 22 minutes in before Chris countered with a the Horizon's first strike a minute later. The Impact notched one more in the 25th to make it 3-1 at halftime.
Some halftime adjustments were made and the Horizon kept the game in check as they continued to attack picking up another goal on a PK at the 42nd minute making it 3-2. Shot after shot it looked as if the Horizon would equalize, but the Impact keeper made several great saves to preserve the lead. In the final minute the Impact put the nail in the coffin and came away with a 4-2 win, giving Silver Lake their first CJSL loss of the year.
