Question: Is there some way I can get a receipt from Silver Mountain? Answer: No. It sounds harsh, but the program is as cheap as I can get it because I don't require extra things like this from them. If you have to have a receipt to get a reimbursement, then you have the option of paying full price so that the mountain can give you a receipt OR you can pay far less and forget about the receipt and the reimbursement, but you can't have both the receipt AND the low prices unless IDEA, or any other such organization, is willing to accept something that they generate for me to sign. You have to understand that this program is totally and completely separate from anything that IDEA does or any other group. You are getting a huge discount from Silver Mountain because they don't have to do anything to get this money. All of the paperwork is done by me, all of the ticketing is done by me, all of the correspondence is done by me. In other words this is NOT a Silver Mountain Program. It has no affiliation WITH Silver Mountain other than we are using their facility. I do not provide receipts, I can't accept credit cards, the program has many hoops to jump through to be a part of it so that you can save the money. When I started this 17 years ago I didn't even sign receipts because I don't get that money and heaven forbid that the government would think that I do! but I was assured that it was only to prove that the money was put into a program and my signature was good enough. Any time that it becomes not good enough, then you need to have that organization set you up a program that will provide receipts that they accept. We've had this come up many times over the years and it all comes back to the same place. I won't do anything to jeopardize the rapport with the mountain that I am working with by asking them to work harder, providing receipts for money that they are receiving as a lump sum, while they give us these discounts. I KNOW that they would grumble. The first time someone asked me to provide a receipt I had a line of 50 people behind her, no cash register, no receipt book, not even a piece of scratch paper, and I told her then, "If you can provide a receipt completely filled out and dated, without holding up the line, I will sign it, but I will NOT add to MY responsibilities and I will not make more work for myself than I have undertaken already." I still feel the same way about it. The organization that you are with would need to look at the website, generate a receipt of their liking and send it or give you a place to print it from so that you can get it filled out before you arrive. Essentially what I'm saying is that this is a can of worms that I never would have expected to have to deal with. It needs to stay simple enough to not complicate my life any further than it is already or I won't do it at all. Thank you for understanding. |
