Homeschool Ski Programs for 2011-2012

WELCOME TO THE HOMESCHOOL SKI PROGRAM
THIS SEASON WE WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE TWO CHOICES ON THIS SITE
MOUNT SPOKANE ON THURSDAYS
SILVER MOUNTAIN ON MONDAYS AND FRIDAYS
SO YOU WILL NEED TO BE CAREFUL TO WATCH WHICH FORMS YOU FILL OUT.

See the page "sign up here" for each of the mountains to find out their pricing and what they are offering for 2011-2012

This season will, Lord willing, be our 18th year of coordinating a group ski program for the home schooling students in our area.  What began as a way to afford to teach our son a sport that we loved became a ministry of sharing
that passion with a community.
As you teach your child a life skill of skiing or snowboarding it is our hope that you will teach them the enjoyment of the beautiful surroundings we are blessed to live in and to treasure the time that they have with their friends and family to it's fullest.

Silver Mountain does have Wi-Fi up at the mountain haus if you need a wireless connection.

The Waterpark at Silver Mountain
will be open from
11:00 am to 7:00 pm on Mondays and
11:00 am to 8:00 pm on Fridays.
Be sure to bring your own towels, since the waterpark only lends out towels to guests who are staying at the lodge.

You may invite guests to accompany you but you need to be responsible for them, signing them up, picking up their tickets, and making sure that they have all of their paperwork prepared before they arrive.  Be selective because they will be representing us and we want only the best reputation with
either Mountain's staff.
Your entire family is always welcome.  The mission of this program is to create family memories to last a lifetime!  Adult children, grandparents, aunts and uncles, parents of children who are no longer even home schooling are all welcome.
Silver Mountain is not overwhelmed by us...they have 400 rentals and have NEVER used more than 200!   It IS a home schooling program though and we do want to keep our numbers of home educators above that of our guests so please do spread the word among home educators..

5TH GRADE SKI PASSPORTS
A PROGRAM PUT TOGETHER BY THE INLAND NORTHWEST SKI ASSOCIATION (INSA) ALLOWING 5TH GRADE SKIERS TO GET REDUCED RATES AND FREE PASSES.   THE PASSPORT MAY NOT BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH OUR HOMESCHOOL SKI PROGRAM.  IN OTHER WORDS, I CANNOT PROVIDE RENTALS OR LESSONS FOR 5TH GRADE STUDENTS WHO ARE USING THEIR PASSPORTS FOR FREE LIFT TICKETS ALREADY.  YOU MAY USE THE PASSPORT OR USE OUR PROGRAM, BUT WE CAN'T MIX THE TWO TOGETHER.   THEY ARE BOTH INDEPENDENTLY STANDING PROGRAMS NOT TO BE CONFUSED.    THANK YOU!

When Ski Season begins

  • Beginning on Thursday, January 12th of 2012, Lord willing, we will be running to Mt. Spokane for weekly ski days.  During those days anyone is welcome to come join us for $10 youth lifts, $15 adult lifts, $5 add on for group lessons, youth get a free lesson with a lift and rental for a total of $25.  Adults may rent for $10 making a lift and rental cost $25 for an adult.
A 6-week program will operate at Mt. Spokane from January 12th through February 16th for youth only:
$75 for six weeks of lift and lessons (mandatory)
$100 for six weeks of the above with rentals included

    At the completion of the six week program we will begin a 4-week program allowing as little as four or as many as ten weeks of lessons at a greatly reduced price.  The four week program will be priced as;
    February 23rd through March 15th
$50 for four weeks of lift and lessons (mandatory)
$65 for four weeks of the above with rental included

So a 10 week program would only cost
$115 for lift and lessons which are mandatory
$165 for the above plus rentals for all 10 weeks

REMEMBER: IF YOU SIGN UP FOR AN EDUCATIONAL SIX OR FOUR WEEK PROGRAM THE LESSONS ARE MANDATORY---IT IS A REQUIREMENT TO ATTEND LESSONS TO GET THE REDUCED PRICING.  THESE CLASSES ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO ADULTS, BUT GROUP LESSONS ARE STILL AVAILABLE FOR PARENTS AND INDIVIDUALS JUST JOINING US FOR THE DAY.

The lesson program should have one instructor that is assigned to a group for the entire period so that the group will progress together.  It is important that your student understand that they are to STAY in the class they are assigned to unless the instructor moves them to a more appropriate class.  They may not move around at their discretion or even at their parent's discretion.  The affect on the classes is detrimental.

There will be an optional four week extension at the end of the six week program at Mt. Spokane.   New students may take the four week program if they cannot attend the six week because of cost or scheduling.    There is something for everyone's budget this year!  It's time to learn to ski!
