Home Remedies

Disclaimer

These medicines are not to be used instead of conventional veterinary medicine for your rat, but in conjunction with these medicines, or as a stop-gap if no vet is immediately available (rats and mice love to get sick on the first day of a long weekend). Please, if your pet is showing signs of illness, get them to a vet as soon as possible. Please also note that the majority of these I haven't tested myself, it's just a compilation of information I've found online and through other rodent lovers. I would recommend that you read all labels very closely so you don’t get ripped off- some have said that some unscrupulous manufacturers sell liquid claiming to be medicine, but with all the medicinal properties of water- the placebo effect isn’t going to work on rats!

Most of these topics were written with rats in mind but most can be easily scaled down for use in mice.
