Silos Dining
The Silos Restaurant is located on the NSW South Coast, just on the outskirts of picturesque Berry. Nestled amidst the rolling hills of a local vineyard, Silos takes its name from the 80 year old grain silos included in the property, one of which houses the wine cellar. This superb setting alone would be reason enough to visit, however the cuisine created by our oustanding chefs will be a stand out of the experience.
The menu has an eclectic feel with Middle Eastern, Asian and traditional influences blending to create a truly unique modern Australian cuisine. The Restaurant is accommodating to children with outdoor seating and a large grass area in front.

Robert Salmon has been around the Shoalhaven for a long time. But at The Silos he has found his perfect home. The food is consistently good, and every occassion is imbued with the little extra that turns a good meal into a great one. Start with the taste and texture sensation of the bastourma (wafer-thin slices of cured Turkish beef) and dukkah-crusted egg salad with goat's cheese, roasted walnuts and citrus red wine dressing. Then there's the fluffy, twice-cooked cheese souffle, a sweetly briny Moreton Bay bug salad, or a flaky mushroom tarte tatin, An Asian-South American mix of coconut and tomato and corriander salsa accompanies skillfully cooked lemongrass and chili-crusted fish. If the old sweet thrill is calling, the 'Filo Silo' is the answer, filled with rhubarb and berry compote, almond meringue and rhubarb ice-cream. And of course, the setting is near perfect, with views more Tuscan than Shoalhaven. |
