wonderful! never thot i wud get news about silchar. i am frm chennai but have lived in silchr frm 1990 to 96. i taught at holy cross school during tht period. it was very exciting to see a pic of holy cross.

Assam University Stall inaugarated in Gandhi Mela, Silchar
Assam University, Silchar has set-up a stall of its own in the Exhibition section of the ongoing 57th Gandhi Mela Silchar. The said stall was formally inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of the varsity, Prof. Goutam Biswas. Also present during the inauguration ceremony were the Registrar, Souri Sen Gupta, Controller of Examinations Dr. S.B. Paul, Deputy Registrar Dr. Bivash Deb, Prof Abhik Gupta and others. Speaking to BarakTimes, the Deputy Registrar said that they will try to make their presence felt in the Mela premises in a big way.
Gandhi Mela has warmed up
57th Gandhi Mela and Exhibition has warmed up since last week end. Infact, a huge crowd was witnessed in the Mela groung from Saturday onwards. Speaking to BarakTimes, Ranjit Roy, general Secretary of the Mela said that every arrangement has ben made to to make the mela look attractive. He also told that detailed security arrangement has been made inside the ground.
21 Radio Stations along with Silchar to start FM
Machineries of FM radio for 21 Radio stations in North-east India, including Silchar is complete. This was informed by Pradip Dutta Roy, member of Advisory Council for North-East AIR & Doordarshan in a press meet at Silchar.
