Sleep With One Eye Open

Sleep With One Eye Open, poem by Signe Robertson, 2009

When you hurt an angel
And make her want to cut off her wings
And make her forget about the love
And focus on the fear
You earned yourself the worst
You sent yourself to Hell

Watch your back
Expect us
We will be there
Wherever you turn
There will be a soldier
A fighter
One of our kind

If you slip up again
Karma will get you
So you better sleep
With one eye open

For each time
You hit her
May huge rocks fall unto your head
For each time
You said a harsh word
May you be laughed at, spat at
Taunted and cursed

Expect us
Sleep with one eye open
When you've done the worst
Karma stands behind the corner

If you hurt her once
I will hurt you thrice
If you make her want to die
I will take your life

When you have the most beautiful one
And make her want to die
That's a proof
You fucking failed at life!

Remove yourself
Remove yourself from us
Isolate yourself
In a dark cave somewhere

You better wish
You better hope
No one speaks to you again
Karma waits around the corner
So you better sleep with one eye open
