We're assuming that by now, most of you have learned of the tragic loss of Dan Hubbell, aka HUD ‘83. As everyone who knew him can attest, no one bled a more true Sigma Delta green than HUD, and no single man will be able fill his shoes.

For those that were unaware, HUD was the President of the Sigma Delta Alumni Governance Board. As such, he was the champion of our initiative with Clarkson University to again recognize the Sigma Delta fraternity as a local Greek organization, and to facilitate the construction of a new fraternity house for the chapter located on Clarkson’s Hill campus.

It is imperative that HUD’s efforts, towards which he tirelessly and selflessly donated his own personal time and resources, were not in vain, but instead are continued with equal passion through the collective efforts of us all.

What we are asking of all Sigma Delta Alumni is that we work together as a unit, across the generations, to make the 2011 Sigma Delta Alumni Weekend about more than just playing golf and getting together with our brothers. More importantly, we are looking to demonstrate our fraternal unity and commitment to Clarkson, and to reconfirm our intentions as a Clarkson alumni organization to stay the course that HUD and President Tony Collins have charted for Sigma Delta.

Our overall mission is simple: take whatever actions are necessary to ensure HUD’s vision of a new house on the hill for the Alpha Chapter of Sigma Delta Fraternity at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York is realized. The next step for most of us begins this July in Potsdam. Make sure you're a part of it.
