Sierra Writers member Patricia Dove Miller will present a series of creative writing classes through the rest of 2009. They include a Writing Practice Group, a Writers' Workshop, and a Day of Writing and Meditation. Class size is limited; early registration is advised. Long time Sierra Writers member John Skinner died July 28 of complications from heart surgery. Our prayers and thoughts go out to all his many friends and family. For more about his inspiring life and legacy, see "Late forest supervisor remembered" in the July 31 edition of The Union newspaper. Sierra Writers president Babette Donaldson and webmaster Tom Durkin are planning a great new look for our website this fall. Janet Ann Collins will talk about writing for the religious market. Author of two books for children, "Peril of the Secret Scientist" and "In Secret Service," Collins is a retired teacher who has taught workshops at many conferences.
