Who we are

The mission of the West Michigan Sierra Club, 
  with over 1,500 members,
as well as that of the national Sierra Club,
  with over 700,000 members, is to . . .

   . . . Explore, enjoy and protect the wild places on Earth.
   . . . Practice and promote the responsible use 
              of the Earth's ecosystems and resources.
   . . . Educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore 
              the quality of the natural and human environment.
   . . . Use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.

At the West Michigan Group, we serve Sierra Club members in the 1.3 million-person-strong Grand Rapids-Muskegon-Holland metropolitan area, in Michigan's Kent, Ottawa, Muskegon, Oceana, Mason, Lake, Osceola and Newaygo Counties, with outings, programs, education and more.
