THE VISIT OF THE NORTH COWICHAN CLUB ON MAY 30TH WAS A FUN EVENT ENJOYED BY ALL WHO PARTICIPATED AND THOSE THAT JUST WATCHED.  HERE IS THE TROPHY WHICH IS PASSED BACK AND FORTH EACH YEAR.  IT WAS ORIGINALLY DONATED BY RON LESLIE AND NOW DISPLAYS SMALL PLAQUES RECORDING THE YEAR OF THE EXCHANGE VISIT (ON THE PORT SIDE).  HISTORICALLY WE DO NOT RECORD THE TOURNAMENT RESULTS - A GOOD THING AS THIS YEAR WE WOULD HAVE TO STATE THAT NORTH COWICHAN LBC DEFEATED SIDNEY LBC BY A SPREAD OF 4 POINTS.

MANY THANKS TO THE LADIES WHO, ONCE AGAIN, PERFORMED SPLENDIDLY(the webmaster is uncertain how a halo effect occurred over the head of one of the ladies)

LADDER TOURNAMENT 2012

This tournament runs itself. On a bulletin board in the club will be placed the names, in vertical fashion (thus the term "ladder") of the participants. The objective is for each player to move as high on the ladder as possible. One does that by contacting the player directly above on the ladder (if sufficient members sign on we may allow one to challenge either the player directly above or two positions above) to a singles match.
The form that match takes is up to the participants. They could play to a predetermined number of points or number of ends.
Matches take place avoiding regular club event times.
If the challenger wins the match, he/she exchanges positions with the opponent on the ladder. Both participants record the win or loss for end-of-season prizes.
Participants may join (or withdraw from) the tournament at any time during the season, but we'd like to start as soon after next weekend's "Garage Sale" as possible, so contact Bill if interested asap!
For further information or to join the event contact BILL TSCHIRHART
