Sidmouth Choral Society is an amateur choir based in Sidmouth, Devon. We were founded in 1856 and perform two major concerts per year, one in the Spring and the other in December.
We are a friendly group of around 60 singers, meeting one evening per week for about 10 weeks before each concert.
Would you like to join us? We welcome new members. There is no audition, though some ability to sing and read music is an advantage. Some of our new members had never sung in a choir before, and we are happy to help you to find your voice.
The annual membership fee is £40.00

Our Spring 2012 Concert was performed in the Methodist Church on 28th April. The theme was the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The programme comprised Handel's Coronation Anthems, which were first performed for the coronation of George II and Queen Caroline in 1727, and include the famous Zadok the Priest. The second half included extracts from Edward German's comic opera "Merrie England", first performed in 1902, a patriotic story concerning love and rivalries at the court of Queen Elizabeth I. ----------------
Daisy Walford from St Margaret's in Exeter once again sang the Soprano solo part for us in Rutter's requiem.
Our Spring 2010 Concert was a great success. The choir performed John Rutter's Requiem and J H Maunder's Olivet to Calvary. Three bases
Dorothy Worthington, Musical Director, once again led the choir through three months of rehearsal to a worthy success on the big night.
