Start locally, think globally. Since 2003, Side By Side Organic Farm, a sustainable organization, has touched the lives of hundreds of families in the poorest communities of East Bali . The majority of participants in our programs are disenfranchised women and their children.
The traditional spiritual culture of the Balinese people is being challenged by the demands of new development on a small island. In this atmosphere of rapid change, Side By Side farmers are working hard towards their goal of self sufficiency and a return to a traditional way of life. The farmers are growing chemical free food and using all profits from their small market garden and livestock to feed and educate their children. By providing good food and small cottage industry opportunities, Side By Side empowers the women and children to have a better education and a brighter future.
The purpose of Side by Side Farm is to preserve an indigenous way of life through empowerment and freedom. We encourage cross cultural understanding by creating a peaceful healthy environment where people from around the world can work together to make a difference in the lives of others.
