PapersThe emphasis of the conference is on sustaining and expanding
research excellence in Scotland by focusing on original student work in
progress. For this reason, all papers should clearly indicate
directions for future research wherever appropriate. Specific
requirements are:
- The point of the SICSA conference is communication - within the SICSA
community and with the wider computer science and informatics
community, so that we can demonstrate the excellence of work going on
in Scotland by students. Therefore, there is no requirement for the
paper to be a "novel" contribution i.e. work which has not been
published before. So, if you have already published papers in more
specialist conferences, you can amend these for submission to this
general audience conference. Papers initially submitted to this
conference may be submitted to other conferences at a later date.
- All first authors MUST be registered PhD students with a SICSA
university in Scotland at the time of submission and registration. For
a list of SICSA institutions, please see: http://www.sicsa.ac.uk/contact/links-to-universities
- The first (student) author is required to present their work in person at the conference.
- A
core objective of the conference is to discuss ongoing work. In line
with this objective, and due to necessarily low acceptance rate on
papers for presentation, all paper submissions MUST be accompanied by a
poster. Papers up to 10 pages using the LNCS style will be selected for presentation
covering a range of topics that reflect the wide scope of Scotland's
PhD research in informatics and computer studies. Acceptance to this
section will depend on the balance of paper topics received, and their
suitability for a broad audience.
- When submitting you will be presented with a list of topics. Please select those topics that your work applies to. You may select more than 1 topic but you should select at least one.
Authors are requested to omit their names and affiliations from the papers they upload, in order to ensure that the review process is double blind.
Submission for the paper track is CLOSED.
