Team website ~ Wednesday evening SI 682 TechSmith groupThe Fall 2009 University of Michigan School of Information class SI 682 is titled Interface and Interaction Design, and meets on Wednesday evenings in the Duderstadt Center on North Campus. Our team is comprised of five individuals from this class: Andy Hickner, Neha Kumari, John Levandowski, Jessamyn Smallenburg, and Robert Melendez. Information about each of us is located in the Team Member Profiles section. Our client is TechSmith, a very well-known and innovative technology firm based in Okemos, Michigan.
Our project concerns the design of a tool that will facilitate the functioning of small to medium sized groups. TechSmith is looking for a new project to develop, and it is our goal to provide them with an inspired solution. Throughout the course of the semester we will use Contextual Inquiry, create personas and scenarios, develop low- and high-fidelity prototypes, and research the users' perceptions of our design ideas.
These individual projects comprise a total of five separate, formal milestones for the class:
Milestone 1 - Client Profile, Team Member Profiles, and Problems & Scope Milestone 2 - Contextual Inquiry (Interviews, Interpretation Session, Affinity Diagramming) Milestone 3 - Personas and Scenarios Milestone 4 - Low-Fidelity Prototype Milestone 5 - High-Fidelity Prototype
Following the completion of these five milestones, the team will construct and present a final presentation to detail the results of our research and our design ideas.
