About CADA

The Construction and Architechtural Design Academy at Southern High School prepares students for a career in the construction field and much more!
Whether students want to be a carpenter or an architect, the CADA offers a general introduction to the industry with opportunities for internships and exposure to all facets of construction.
 
The program is an excellent option for students who desires to enter the workforce directly after high school as well as for a someone who wants to continue his or her post-secondary education. Former graduates include successful tradespersons, business owners, construction managers, engineers, and designers.
 
Features of CADA:
  • Classes in Drafting, Electrical Trades, Masonry, HVAC, and Carpentry
  • Small classes with individual attention
  • Hands-on project-based learning
  • Experience with tools and materials
  • Safety instruction and OSHA certification
  • National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certifications
  • Field trips to building sites, supply houses and other industry locations
