Dr. SHOUVIK CHAKRABORTY

Dr. Shouvik Chakraborty is serving as a Lecturer and Head, Department of Computer Science & Technology, In-charge, Machine Intelligence and Computer Vision Laboratory, Women's Polytechnic, Chandernagore, Govt. of West Bengal. He is a former lecturer in Computer Science & Technology, and former In-charge of the Robotics and Innovation Laboratory (eYLSI), and the Former Internal Coordinator of the Burdwan Regional Office, Directorate of Vocational Education and Training at M.B.C. Institute of Engineering & Technology (Government of West Bengal), Purba Bardhaman, Sadhanpur. He received his M.Tech. and Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, University of Kalyani, West Bengal, India in 2016 and 2023 respectively. He received his B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology (presently Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology), West Bengal, India in 2014. He has cleared the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 11 times in CS/IT & 1 time in DA, UGC National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) 6 times (LS) & 2 times (LS & JRF), and West Bengal State Eligibility Test (SET). He is a recipient of the prestigious DST INSPIRE research fellowship in 2017, and AICTE national scholarship in 2014. He secured first class first position in Master of Technology. He has received multiple best paper awards in various international conferences and science congresses. He is a member of various professional bodies like IEEE, IACSIT, IAENG, ICSES, IEDRC, MIR Labs, SDIWC, ISERS, IEEE YP, IEEE CS, etc. He is a life member of the Institute of Scholars (InSc), India. He is featured in the top 2% of most influential scientists in the world in consecutive two years 2022, and 2023 (published by Stanford University, USA). He is also featured in the list and ranking of the world scientists published by Alper-Doger scientific index. Some of his research works are included in the WHO COVID-19 research database that is created in response to the Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC).

Dr. Chakraborty has published and presented more than 60 research articles in various journals, books, and presented at different reputed international and national conferences. His research interests include soft and evolutionary computing, digital image processing, bio-medical image analysis, pattern recognition, machine learning, optimization techniques, and image encryption. He is one of the editorial review board members of IJCVIP, and ASTESJ, and a reviewer of many reputed international journals and conferences like nature scientific reports, IEEE transactions on evolutionary computation, IEEE transactions on fuzzy systems, expert systems with applications, IEEE transactions on systems, man, and cybernetics: systems, IEEE access, IEEE transactions on emerging topics in computational intelligence, applied soft computing (Elsevier), neural processing letters (Springer), informatics in medicine unlocked (Elsevier), IJAMC (IGI global), journal of experimental & theoretical artificial intelligence (Taylor & Francis), etc.
