Mission Statement

The Student Health Outreach Project (SHOUT) at UCLA is a student-run initiative, which seeks to improve access to quality health care services for all individuals through community outreach, educational programming and advocacy. SHOUT's primary objective is to decrease the number of uninsured individuals in Los Angeles by helping uninsured families navigate California's health care system, and identify public or private programs that fulfill their needs. This process begins by increasing awareness among students of the insupportable health disparities that characterize health care in the United States, and mobilizing them in productive endeavors to combat these inequalities.
