ShotDriver lets you build a shot lists for live video production, and transmit shot information to camera operators in a variety of ways. During performance, information about upcoming shots and the current shot in the list can be transmitted over a LAN to client applications. ShotDriver AD broadcasts shot list data to receiver applications via UDP/IP network communication. ShotDriver multicasts data on UDP port number 1810. ShotDriver AD accepts MIDI timecode, and MIDI data sent from a video switcher via GPI signals routed to a GPI-to-MIDI device. When you license ShotDriver, you need to authorize ShotDriver AD on one computer. You may use the receiver application, ShotDriver Camera, on any number of computers in your installation. ShotDriver Camera is available for Mac and Windows platforms. ShotDriver AD's UDP Multicast data is programmed to travel only within your local area network, and is not sent to the internet at large. If a computer running ShotDriver Camera is not receiving data correctly, make sure that the proper port is enabled on the computer's firewall, as well as (possibly) any internal routers in your network. On the Preferences window's General tab, there is a popup menu to alllow you to select a network interface card for ShotDriver to use. However, in developing the software this command did not work as intended. We weren't able to conclude if the fault was in our network interface devices or in the way the application was trying to address them. So for now, that preference still appears even though it may not function as desired. |
