The elephant

The elephant: A reminder of ancestry, roots and hope for the future ...

Jean Johnson and her art stud
ents designed a magnificent, unforgettable, elephant as their senior project for Haiti Relief 2010: it was available for purchase by placing a bid into a silent auction container.

You can see the elephant at The Langosta Lounge 1200 Ocean Avenue in Asbury Park. There, you can stroll around the well balanced plaster-of-paris elephant and see its folds and its proud head. The elephant's trunk reaches all the way to Haiti, on behalf of the Asbury Park High School kids who made it, and all of those here, who wish them well.

Bidding is now closed ... THANK YOU!!!!

The ELEPHANT
Hilaire BellocĀ (1870-1953)

When people call this beast to mind,
They marvel more and more
At such a little tail behind,
So large a trunk before.
