My Work

In December 2002, I got my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Department of Computer Science, Yale University.  My research interests included designing and implementing novel programming languages.  More specifically, I had been applying ideas from modern functional programming research to designing domain-specific languages (DSLs).  My dissertation is on a DSL called Functional Reactive Programming (FRP).  FRP has enjoyed wide application, including interactive animation, graphical user interfaces, robotics, computer vision, and control systems.  To know more about my research, you can download some of my publications and talks.

My CV and resume are available on-line.

My Life

Before going to Yale, I got my B.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Science and Technology of China.

I used to play the guitar and write songs (lyrics in Chinese).

I drew for fun when I was a kid.  I still draw sometimes, but not as much as I would like to.
