Iritty: My Home Town

                                     Iritty is a small town in the state of Kerala, India.  Kannur (Cannanore) is the district headquarters. The town is the main market place for the farmer communities in the surrounding regions. Nearby smaller towns are Mattannur, Peravoor, Vallithode,     Angadikadavu, Anappanthy, Edoor and Ulikkal.

This place is well connected by road from both Kannur and Tellicherry or Thalassery. There are frequent buses from both these places to Iritty. There is no railway line, and the nearest airports are Kozhikode aka Calicut.Iritty is approximately 40 Kilometers (approximately one and half hours by public transport buses) from both Thalassery and Kannur.

                                      Iritty is primarily a trading town, which caters to the vast community of plantation farms in the vicinity. For the State Government Administration, Iritty is a Special Grade Panchayath. Iritty is headquarters to several State Government offices.
