Week of November 23th
- Continue our centers on Thanksgiving.
- Listen to a book called Pilgrim Children Had Many Chores. Disscus likenesses and differences of Pilgrim children and children today.
- Continue to become math teachers and use math talk as we orally create some word problems for our classmates to solve.
- Practice writing and sequencing the numerals 1-20.
- Practice the skill of sharing things equally.
- Continue to learn many interesting facts about Thanksgiving as we listen to a book called If You Sailed on the Mayflower. Ask your child each day to share with you a fact that they have learned while listening to this book.
- Continue to be authors and illustrators by writing a story in our journals. We will be using a rubric as we strive to be a Level 3 writer this quarter. We are now expected to write at least 2 sentences about our topic. Many of us are trying to write 3 sentences now!
- Complete our graph for the week and solve our weekly word problem.
- Finish preparing for our Thanksgiving feast.
- We will practice describing objects using vocabulary such as color, weight, length, hight, width, and texture.
- Continue to be the best Shining Stars was can be!
